What to do on the Kordon
Sunset over the bay
The bay faces west, so the Kordon is where Izmir watches the sun go down. Late afternoon is the busiest and most beautiful time.
Walk, run or cycle
A wide promenade with a cycle lane runs along the sea. Early morning belongs to joggers; BİSİM bike-share stations are along the route.
Take the ferry
From Alsancak pier the ferry crosses the bay to Karşıyaka: a short, cheap ride with the best view of the city from the water.
Fish, meze and cafés
Seafront terraces serve Aegean fish and meze; the side streets of Alsancak behind the Kordon are full of cafés and bars.
Museums on the waterfront
The Atatürk Museum and the Arkas Art Center are right on the Kordon, a short walk from the hotel.
Walk to the Clock Tower
Follow the sea south for about half an hour to Konak Square and the Clock Tower, then continue into Kemeraltı Bazaar.
